About OGROJATRA
Ogrojatra- San Diego Bangladeshi Organization was founded on October, 2011. Ogrojatra is a community based organization operated by a Board of Directors which consists of 5 to 7 Board Members. Board of Directors is elected democratically for two years per term, max two consecutive terms. In 2014, Ogrojatra became 501c Non-Profit organization striving to help the local Bangladeshi-American community in San Diego as well as help the underprivileged in Bangladesh.
Our Mission & Vision

Enrich the children of the community with Bangladeshi culture by organizing cultural events and activities

Create opportunities and promote charitable events in support of people in San Diego and Vicinity and Bangladesh.

Work to provide various assistance to members of Bangladeshi community of San Diego County and its vicinity

Hold various different educational workshops for the kids in the community

Represent Bangladeshi community in local non-political awareness forums, only to promote interests of Bangladesh and Bangladeshi community.
Our History
Over the past few years, the Bangladeshi community in San Diego has grown significantly. As the community is growing, it is increasingly becoming difficult to host large community wide cultural events as well as other efforts benefiting the San Diego Bangladeshi community and our country of origin. Sponsoring these events costs money, time, and effort. An organization with formal structure will help in resolving the above mentioned issues the community is facing. After discussing with many community members, Ogrojatra- Bangladeshi Association for San Diego & Vicinity was founded on October, 2011. Ogrojatra is a community based organization operated by a board of directors which consists of 5 to 9 Board Members. Board of Directors are elected democratically once a year.
